Al-Kathiri gets briefed by the Governor of Socotra on the general situation in the archipelago

Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Southern Transitional Council, met on Wednesday, with Eng. Raafat Al-Thaqali, Governor of the Socotra Archipelago Governorate.
During the meeting, Al-Kathiri listened to a detailed explanation from Governor Al-Thaqali about the general situation in the Socotra Archipelago in light of the current circumstances, and the efforts made by the local authorities to support the development process, improve the level of services provided to citizens, and find solutions to the difficulties and challenges facing them.
The meeting addressed the actual needs of the archipelago’s regions and the tasks that would alleviate the crises facing citizens. It emphasized the importance of coordination with government ministries, relevant authorities, and donors, to contribute to achieving sustainable development and serving the public interest.
Al-Kathiri commended the efforts of the local authorities at various levels, affirming the Southern Transitional Council’s commitment and continuous monitoring of the situation of the archipelago and its people. He also emphasized the importance of preserving the social fabric of Socotra’s people and safeguarding the security and stability they enjoy.
