The Southern Transitional Council’s Advisory Council warns of the danger of drugs

The Administrative Body of the Southern Transitional Council’s Advisory Council warned, in its meeting on Tuesday, of the danger and spread of drugs in the southern governorates, stressing that they threaten individuals, families, and southern society in general.

The body indicated that the promotion and spread of drugs is systematic and planned to target the youth and young people in southern society, praising the role of the security services in the southern governorates in combating drugs.

The Administrative Body reviewed the repercussions of the phenomenon of random construction and sprawl in camps, public institutions, recreational areas, and state-owned properties in the south since 1990, and recommended putting an end to this phenomenon.

The body commemorated the sacrifices of the heroes of the Southern Armed Forces on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of its founding on September 1, 1971. It affirmed their steadfastness and determination in confronting attempts to undermine the cause and gains of the people of the South, calling for strengthening their national role and ensuring the regular disbursement of their salaries.

The meeting reviewed developments in the southern national arena, most notably the government’s measures aimed at stabilizing the exchange rate in accordance with recent decisions. It also affirmed its rejection of any attempts to manipulate currencies or speculate in the markets.

The Administrative Body called on the government to expedite the disbursement of overdue employee salaries and address the problem of fuel shortages and weak electricity generation. It also addressed the report of the Advisory Committee for Family Affairs on the field visit to the Aden Center to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs.

The meeting discussed intensifying awareness-raising efforts on the dangers of various types of drugs through all media outlets, mosque platforms, and health awareness centers, with a focus on the health and social aspects of these dangers.
