Under patronage of President Al-Zubaidi, Al-Mahra celebrates 62nd anniversary of glorious October 14 Revolution

Al-Mahra Governorate celebrated the 62nd anniversary of the glorious October 14 Revolution on Tuesday, under the generous patronage of President Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, President of the Southern Transitional Council, with a speech and artistic ceremony in the capital, Al-Ghaydah. The ceremony was attended and participated by a number of local, military, and security leaders, social and cultural figures, representatives of civil society organizations, and citizens.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Abdul Nasser Al-Ja’ari, head of the Presidential Guidance and Oversight Team, emphasized that this immortal national occasion embodies the struggles and sacrifices of the people of the South for freedom and independence after 129 years of British occupation. He pointed out that the October Revolution placed the South on the world map as an independent and unified state, from Al-Mahra in the east to Bab al-Mandab in the west.

Al-Ja’ari explained that the southern state at that time achieved equality and social justice, spread education and health, and nurtured the southern people who contributed to building state institutions and its army. He emphasized that these achievements were made possible thanks to the unity and common will of the people of the south, calling for unification of the southern ranks behind the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council.

Deputy Minister of Water and Environment, Mujahid bin Afrar, expressed his happiness at participating with the people of Al-Mahra in celebrating this national anniversary. He emphasized that the October 14 Revolution was not a passing event, but rather a turning point in the history of the southern struggle, shaping the features of pride and dignity for the people of the south. He praised the efforts of the local leadership of the Transitional Council in reviving the spirit of struggle and national awareness in the souls of new generations.

For his part, the head of Al-Mahra Transitional Council Executive Authority, Abdul Rahim Al-Sadiq, said that the glorious October 14 Revolution will remain a beacon of struggle in the memory of the people of the south, who today continue the path of liberation, independence, and the restoration of the fully sovereign southern state. He affirmed the commitment of the people of the governorate to the option of freedom and sovereignty within the framework of the southern national project led by the Transitional Council.

The ceremony featured a variety of artistic and cultural performances, including patriotic chants, poetry, and traditional Mahri dances that expressed the love of the homeland and the people of Mahra’s adherence to their southern identity. The event was met with great interaction from the audience, who filled the hall.

Attendees expressed their pride in the history of the glorious October 14 Revolution, affirming their renewed pledge of loyalty to the blood of the martyrs and to the political leadership of the Southern Transitional Council, led by President Al-Zubaidi, in continuing the journey of liberation and construction toward a secure and prosperous future for the South.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, a number of directorates and national figures were honored with the Shield of Sacrifice and Struggle in recognition of their contributions and national efforts in serving the South.
