The Deputy Governor of Aden Governorate and Secretary-General of the Local Council, Badr Mu’awin Saeed, directed the rapid resolution and treatment of some infrastructure issues at Aden International Airport. These issues include sewage problems, informal buildings adjacent to the airport fence, and the cleanliness problem resulting from the dumping of waste and garbage bags by homeowners, as well as the opening of balconies onto the airport grounds. This is not to mention the problems of raising buildings located in areas close to the airport, which negatively impacts aircraft takeoff and landing.
The Deputy Governor of Aden stressed the importance of coordination and cooperation between all service providers, the local authorities, the Aden Airport Administration, and the General Authority of Civil Aviation and Meteorology, to enhance the services provided by Aden International Airport.
He emphasized that the local authority, represented by His Excellency the Minister of State and Governor of Aden Governorate, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, attaches great importance to Aden International Airport, as it is currently the main air gateway for the country.
He pointed out that the importance of the city of Aden lies, in addition to its strategic importance, in the presence of the port, airport, and refineries, which are currently progressing rapidly towards resuming operations.
This came during an expanded meeting held this morning at the Aden International Airport building, headed by the Deputy Governor and Secretary-General of the Council, Badr Muawon Saeed.
