Abian Citizens Participate in Celebrating the Third Anniversary of Liberating Al-Houta and Al-Anad Military Base in Lahj.
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Zanzibar – Abian – Exclusive[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] A number of leaders of the southern transitional council of Abian and Zanzibar participated with their brothers in Lahj to celebrate the third anniversary of liberating the governorate from Al-Houthi/Affash occupation of 2015. Colonel Saleh Nasser Abdullah Abu Eidain, chairman of Zanzibar southern transitional council headed the delegation. He appreciated the warm welcome of Dr. Fadl Hammash, vice chairman of Lahj southern transitional council and praised the major role of preparation commission in preparing the celebration and mobilizing citizens of Lahj. Abu Eidain indicated that Lahj, like all southern governorates, sacrificed a lot of martyrs since the beginning of the southern revolution and is till sacrificing more for restoring the southern lands and national identity.
Mohamed Said Aiash, member of Abian council indicated that they came to share joy with their brothers of lahj who suffered a lot during Al-Houthi/Affash occupation that destroyed all facilities and infrastructure of the state, but the gallantry of Lahj citizens and their fierce defense of their lands enabled them to liberate their lands from invaders. He added that this victory is the price payed for freedom and carries the names of gallant martyrs.
Wejdan Massek, chairwoman of Women and Childhood department of Abian council praised the public attendance of the event and close links among southern citizens in all events as this is a clear proof of their consensus on one goal. She also appreciated the active participation of women as an expression of women’s role in struggle in all fields.
