Haq Organization Holds a Seminar in Geneva about the Fabrication of Associated Press Report
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Geneva – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] Haq Organization for advocating rights and freedoms held a seminar on Tuesday September 25th, 2018 in Geneva with contribution of the Consultative Center for Rights and Freedoms – Geneva. The seminar was about results of the fact-finding committee formed by the organization about “Bear Ahmed Corrective Facility” in Aden.
Australian Professor Bossier Guidi, head of the International Organization for Natural Human Rights, and Lebanese Professor Osman Hajji, vice chairman of UN coercive disappearance committee, attended the seminar in addition to several delegations, organizations and activists who are participating now on the current round of UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
Abd Al-Rahman Al-Musaibali, representative of Haq Organization, presented an inclusive presentation about the report including responses to claims of associated Press in its report that he considered as “fabrications”. Al-Musaibali indicated that the report had some political interests in addition to its accusative nature and its lack of integrity and clarity that are basics of law-making and human rights work. He provided attendants with results of the field visit initiated by Haq organization to “Bear Ahmed Corrective Facility” in Aden in addition to CDs including two documentaries and photos from inside the facility that prove the lies of Associated Press report. Professor Bossier Guidi and Professor Osman Hajji presented their rich interventions that helped greatly in the success of the seminar.
It is noteworthy that Haq Organization is participating in the parallel consultations of the current round of UN Human Rights Council in Geneva as Abd Al-Rahman Al-Musaibali is representing the organization. The organization also held five seminars during the past five weeks in addition to attending seminars that discussed human rights in Yemen.
