A security source indicated that during regular inspection, soldiers found 26 Africans hiding inside the van. In their preliminary interrogation, the Africans and the driver indicated that they were hiding from Aden to Rima, a northern governorate, where smugglers will traffic them to Saudi Arabia in exchange of 1000 Saudi Riyals for each person. The source indicated that security systems noticed that trafficking operations are increasing recently, especially for Africans from Ethiopia, Nigeria and Somalia. The source also indicated those persons are soon being released as there are no shelter centers for them after the government closed their shelter center in Al-Berika – Aden. In addition, there are no alternatives for the security systems in spit of continuous complains from such a situation. The source also warned against this phenomenon with the loose hand of the government in facing it, especially with such suspicious acts and massive numbers of illegal migrants arrested recently while heading to northern governorates witnessing fierce battels that may prevent the trafficking to Saudi Arabia.
