Press Release of the Meeting of the Administrative Commission of the Southern National Assembly

The Administrative Commission of the Southern National Assembly held its regular meeting on December 2nd and 3rd, 2018 in the headquarters of the assembly and headed by General Ahmed Said Ben Brik, chairman of the Southern National Assembly and some meetings were headed by Dr. Anis Lockman, vice chairman of the assembly. The meeting mourned “Zahra Saleh” with a minute of silence before starting its discussions of political, economic, services and legislative issues according to the meeting agenda.
The meeting appreciated the outcomes of consultative meetings and dialogues, headed by the assembly’s chairman, held by the southern transitional council with all southern political parties and components as the outcomes indicated the importance of unifying the southern discourse as these components have the choice of declaring the free independent state of the south in addition to participating in political negotiations led by UN. The meeting also discussed the amendments of internal rules and regulations and rearrangement of the assembly’s commissions after one year of its formation to be discussed by the National Assembly next year.
The meeting also discussed the corruption in economic and services associations of the south, especially electricity, concerning oil extracts purchases, maintenance and other issues. The meeting also discussed the massive numbers of money robbed by corrupts. The meeting asserted that what came in October 3rd statement was all right about fighting corruption through running southern associations by the southern transitional council to eliminate corruption in addition to revising all laws and legislations concerning these associations and reviving the role of syndicates and employees in monitoring and inspection.
The administrative commission inspected the situation of corruption and found massive numbers that clearly indicate that the council was right in all its allegations about corruption. The meeting demanded all chairpersons of commissions to complete 2018 plan and evaluate it along with 2018 budget and prepare 2019 plan and budget to be discussed by the national assembly during the next round.
