A British Court Issues a Life Sentence to a Person Who Ran Over Muslims in London

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – London – Follow-ups [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] According to BBC Arabic, A British court issued a life sentence to a person who ran over Muslims with his van near a mosque north of London with minimum imprisonment term of 43 years. The court concluded that Darren Osborn (48 years) purposefully killed Makram Ali (51 years) as he ran him over by his van which he drove among the crowds in Finsbury Park, north of London on June 19th, 2017 at 12:15 p.m. he also caused injuries to 9 others while they were coming out of the mosque after prayer last Ramadan. Justice Bobbie Cheema-Grubb said to Osborne “This was a terrorist attack,” she said. “You intended to kill.” The murdered man’s eldest daughter Ruzina Akhtar said the family welcomed the verdict while describing the torment they had been through since her father’s death. “Our father, like the victims of most terrorism, was entirely innocent, which makes his death in this violent way all the more hurtful and we cannot imagine the trauma he felt in the last few minutes,” she said in a statement. Commenting on the verdict briefly, Osborn said “Thank you”. Osborn rented a van in Wales and drove it to London on June 18 planning to attack people attending a march, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). When that did not prove possible, he drove around the city looking for a mosque till he initiated his fatal attack on Finsbury Park Mosque.
