Activists Rally Against COVID Sceptics in Berlin

The German government has intensified restrictions on public life in response to the growing number of coronavirus cases in the country since October, when the daily infection rate began steadily exceeding the numbers seen in April.

Sputnik goes live from Germany’s capital Berlin as left-wing protesters rally against another demonstration by coronavirus sceptics set for later in the day.

The protestors are identifying themselves as an alliance against the right.

Last week, Berlin police informed warned the virus sceptics against holding the mass rally, telling them it would be illegal.

The police cited the lockdown measures currently in place and the threat posed by large gatherings to “public safety and order” as the reason behind the decision.
