Coordination Commission of the Southern Transitional Council in Canada Meets Senator Mona Fortier
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Canada – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] On Wednesday September 5th, 2018, Mr. Abdullah Aish Ba Hameed, chairman of the Coordination Commission of the Southern Transitional Council in Canada, Mr. Abd Al-Kareem Ahmed Said, vice chairman and head of foreign affairs department, and Mr. Ghassan Lockman, chairman of media and cultural department and head of the southern Arab Community in Ottawa, met Mrs. Mona Fortier, the Canadian senator, as part of political steps taken by the commission to introduce the southern cause to influential figures in Canada.
The meeting discussed the tragic humanitarian conditions in the south since the invasion by Sanaa troops in 1994 and the second invasion of 2015. The meeting also presented the peaceful struggle of the southern people to restore his modern civil state. the commission requested Canadian government to support the southern people in this humanitarian crisis as Canada is among the leading countries in supporting human rights of persecuted nations.
The meeting also discussed several issues relevant to the work of southern community in Canada, especially the preparations for the upcoming forum, to be held next month, to introduce the southern cause and peaceful struggle to Canadian society.
