[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Follow-ups [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] Ismail Wald Al-Sheikh, former UN Special Delegate to Yemen, indicated, for the first time, that an inclusive plan for peaceful solution was reached but Al-Houthis, at the final moments, proved that they are not ready to make any concessions on the security context or even to be part of a collective security plan. In his final statement to the security council on Tuesday February 27th, 2018, Wald Al-Sheikh indicated that a peace plan in Yemen exists and direct practical suggestions were agreed upon in addition to building trust among all parties but what is lacking is the commitment of these parties to make concessions and prioritize national interest. He added that some politicians make their living from war and weapons trade in addition to abuse of public properties for personal benefits. Finally, Wald Al-Sheikh said: “Those who desire peace should create solutions not excuses”.
