In a Special Meeting with UN Taskforce, Independent Southern Group Discusses the File of Hizballah in Yemen
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Geneva – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] Independent Southern Group met UN anti-mercenaries Taskforce who in Geneva on September 14th, 2018. The meeting discussed historical and legal bases of self-determination for the southern people. The meeting also discussed severe violations of Al-Houthis against civilians in Aden and other southern governorates concerning human rights.
In response to a question from UN anti-mercenaries Taskforce about the existence of foreign mercenaries involved in the current conflict, the Independent Southern Group reported that Hizballah of Lebanon sends mercenaries to fight for Al-Houthi militias through providing them with military and technical support. Especially in developing missiles capabilities and this was clear in the report of UN experts commission filed on January 26th, 2018.
On the other hand, the Independent Southern Group indicated that peace consultations, supposed to be held last week in Geneva, failed because the southern partner was exiled off negotiation tables although all parties admitted that the southern cause is the key to solution in Yemen.
UN anti-mercenaries Taskforce expressed understanding towards the issues presented by the Independent Southern Group and offered to help arranging several meetings with UN Supreme Commission for Human Rights.
