Turkish authorities reported that at least 120 people were injured on Wednesday when a passenger plane split into three parts and caught fire after exiting the runway after landing at the Sabiha International Airport in Istanbul.

“Our ambulances have transported the injured to the region’s hospitals,” Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlicaya said in a statement. The authorities confirmed that none of the 177 people traveling on the plane had been killed.

The structure of the plane belonging to the private company “Pegasus” split into two parts and caught fire after the plane departed from the runway at Sabiha Kogchen International Airport on the Asian bank of Istanbul, as shown by scenes broadcast by CNN Turk.

Turkish media indicated an unspecified number of wounded, while Transport Minister Shahid Tarhan denied any death, according to what the official TRT TV reported.
