Southern Independent Group Holds an Important Meeting with US Delegation in Geneva

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Geneva – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] On Tuesday September 18th, 2018, Southern Independent Group held an Important Meeting with US Delegation in Geneva. The meeting discussed the developments of Yemeni crisis and the location of southern cause in it. The group presented detailed explanation of the southern cause and the rights of southern people in self-determination and restoration of an independent civil state away from the complications of conflict in Arab Republic of Yemen (the north). The group also explained the southern attitude towards the desired political solution to Yemeni crisis and asserted the importance of involving the south in peace making as recent failure of Geneva 3 talks last week may be due to the exclusion of the southern transitional council as a part and this led the southern people and southern resistance to escalate in peaceful demonstrations all over the south in addition to military escalation in Al-Hodeida. They asserted that failure is the inevitable destiny of any talks that exclude the southern cause as a core for solution in Yemen. The meeting also discussed biases in the report of experts’ taskforce about human rights violations in Yemen issued on August 28th, 2018, especially violations exercised by Al-Houthi-Saleh troops while invading Aden and the whole south in 2015, although Aden authorities cooperated in full to guarantee freedom of movement for the taskforce in addition to evidences delivered by southern NGOs in the form of observation and documentation reports. The report did not the expectations of southern victims. US delegation demanded the group top provide them with all remarks about biases in the human rights report in addition to any available reports on this concern. They also demanded a full file about the southern cause and right of self-determination as US delegation asserted that these reports and files will be sent to US concerned bodies in Washington and New York.
