[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Germany – Exclusive[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″][su_dropcap]S[/su_dropcap]outhern Women’s Bloc in Germany held a launching party for the bloc in Bon – Germany on Saturday July 13th, 2019. In her opening speech, Mrs. Fatma Al-Baiti, chairperson of the bloc, thanked the attendants and indicated the importance of empowering southern women and integrating them in the society through participation actively in all fields and spreading southern heritage.
Al-Baiti also talked about marginalization and discrimination against southern women during the past era as these practices were systematically exercised over southern women from influential powers that intentionally spread alien culture and habits in the south. She also indicated that southern women lost all the benefits gained under the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen and were the first target for extremism, marginalization and isolation.
Al-Baiti indicated that the society can never develop if women are isolated and exiled from active positions as this will make them lose their ability for expressing their talents and existence in addition to denying them the right to be involved in decision making. She also indicated that the bloc aims to return southern women to the front through active involvement in their duties towards their nation and through regaining their dignity and rights.
Mrs. Entesar Saif, vice chairperson of the bloc, explained the aims, tasks, mission and vision of the bloc in addition to future plans including the festival of Eid Al-Adha for women of Muslim Community in Germany in addition to the Festival of Folk Heritage to be held next September under supervision of Bon Local Government.
