STC Lawmaking Team Holds a Seminar on the Margins of the 42nd Round of UN Human Rights Council

[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Geneva – Exclusive[/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″][su_dropcap]S[/su_dropcap]TC lawmaking team participating in the 42nd round of UN human rights council, held a seminar in Geneva about human rights in the Arab South and violations in Yemen. The seminar was attended by several international organizations.
Mr. Abd Al-Rahman Al-Musaibali, STC representative in Geneva, explored Al-Houthis violations against southern civilians asserting that victims depend on the international society to gain their rights and sue violators.
Dr. Efendi Al-Haj, member of the Southern National Assembly, indicated the importance of STC participation in peace process under UN through its special delegate, Mr. Martin Griffith, to guarantee peace and security of the region.
Ambassador Ali Al-Bugairi asserted the risks of terrorist groups on the stability of the south as these groups target the south in specific.
Lisa Al-Badawi, member of the team, presented the report of STC human rights department about violations during August events and distributed the report in English and in Arabic for all attendants.
The seminar, run by Dr. Othman Hajjah, UN expert and professor of international law, discussed several aspects of human rights in the south and response of experts’ team for them.
The team also met delegations of other governments and international organizations to calrify the image of southern suffering under ignorance of Yemeni government that does not assume its responsibilities towards the southern people.
