The 2025 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank began in Washington

The 2025 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank began in Washington, D.C., and will continue from October 13 to 18, 2025.

The Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Ahmed Ghaleb, the Governor of the Fund for the Republic of Yemen, held a meeting with the Head of the IMF Mission to Yemen, Ms. Esther Perez, and the Resident Representative, Dr. Mohammed Jaber.

The meeting discussed the results of the recent Article IV consultations held with the IMF mission, the next steps regarding them, and the need to commit to implementing the required economic, financial, and monetary reforms so that the Republic of Yemen can benefit from the IMF’s emergency financing programs and overcome the difficult humanitarian and service-related conditions facing the country.
The meeting was attended by Yemen’s Ambassador to Washington, Abdulwahab Al-Hajri, Deputy Minister of Finance Hani Wahab, the Deputy Ambassador, and relevant representatives of the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance.
