The UN envoy is in Riyadh to discuss support for a comprehensive ceasefire

The UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, met in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with a number of senior officials and diplomats, led by the Kingdom’s ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed Al Jaber.

He held discussions with the ambassadors of the five permanent members of the Security Council. The meetings addressed the need to reduce escalation at the regional level and continue restraint inside Yemen.

He revealed ways to support progress towards a ceasefire that includes all of Yemen, taking measures to improve living conditions, and resuming a political process under the auspices of the United Nations.
