UK: The Houthi attack on the Luanda tanker almost caused an environmental disaster
SMA NEWS – LONDON
Ambassador Abda Sharif, the British Ambassador to Yemen, denounced the attack by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia on the oil tanker Marilyn Luanda, which caused fires to burn for more than 15 hours.
Sharif confirmed in a statement that it was another irresponsible attack that occurred last week by the terrorist Houthis, explaining that this time, fortunately, the crew was not harmed.
She added, “The joint courageous efforts between France, India, and the United States were able to prevent the leakage of 500,000 barrels of oil with difficulty,” noting that the leakage nearly destroyed marine life.
Ambassador Abda warned that the Houthi terrorist attacks on international shipping endanger innocent lives and regional stability and may cause environmental disasters.
