[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – New York – Follow-ups [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] After approving a decision confirming the Palestinian Right of self-determination, with majority of 176 countries out of 193 countries, the UN general assembly will hold an urgent session, described as “rare”, next Thursday upon the request of Arab and Islamic countries. The meeting concerns with the decision of US president, Donald Trump, about recognizing Jerusalem as a capital of Israel. According to Riad Mansour, Palestinian delegate to UN, it is expected that the general assembly will vote on decision project calling for withdrawal of Trump’s decision. USA used Veto last Monday against the decision in UN Security Council. Reuters indicated that Mansour hopes for wide support for the decision in the general assembly. Although it is not mandatory, the decision has a heavy political weight.
