US hails Sultanate of Oman’s role in Yemen

The United States valued the pivotal and significant role played by the Sultanate under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, to find a peaceful solution that ends the crisis in Yemen and ensures stability in Yemen and the whole region and brings the parties to the negotiating table.
In a press briefing held over phone this evening in which ONA participated, the United States special envoy for Yemen, Tim Lenderking said that the Sultanate is making a positive contribution towards solving the Yemeni crisis, adding that the Sultanate is keen to bring the crisis to an end and is working seriously on this file alongside the parties concerned.
The US special pointed to His Majesty’s visit to Saudi Arabia last month and his meeting with King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud, of Saudi Arabia, noting that the meeting delved into several topics most notably the Yemeni dossier and the ways to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis.
The US special envoy to Yemen affirmed that the US is working side by side with the United Nations and regional countries such as the Sultanate and Saudi Arabia to find tangible solutions to the crisis. He added that the support by the parties concerned to ceasefire would contribute to finding a glimmer of hope for Yemen.
