USA condemns the Houthis issuing counterfeit currencies

The United States condemned the issuance of counterfeit currency by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia instead of the official currency, demanding that counterfeit currency be prevented from entering the market.

USA stressed that the actions of the Houthi militia threaten to further economic division, undermine the integrity of the banking sector, and jeopardize Yemen’s commitment to standards for combating terrorist financing.

America stressed that unilateral choices lead to deepening the fragmentation of the economy and harming the people’s livelihood, expressing her support for the Central Bank in the capital, Aden, to achieve financial stability.
