A new outbreak of fighting in Khartoum
SMA NEWS – KHARTOUM
Heavy gunfire reverberated across Khartoum again on Friday, with no sign of a halt to the fighting.
Civilians trapped in the Sudanese capital said the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces were ignoring the truce and continuing to fight.
The sudden slide into war caused hundreds of deaths, a humanitarian catastrophe, and a mass exodus of refugees to neighboring countries.
Factories, banks and shops were looted or vandalized across Khartoum, and electricity and water supplies were disrupted.
