The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, on Sunday, received a phone call from Jonas Jahr Sture, Prime Minister of Norway.
Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic in Egypt, said that the call covered follow-up discussions on developments in the situation in Gaza Strip.
President Al-Sisi stressed the necessity of working to implement a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian issue on the basis of the two-state solution, with the importance of pressing at the present time towards a ceasefire to protect civilians who are subjected to unprecedented human suffering.
In this regard, the two sides agreed on the need to deliver and provide relief aid to the Gaza Strip immediately and to respect international law.
The official spokesman added that the call discussed the distinguished bilateral relations between Egypt and Norway and ways to develop economic cooperation and joint investments between the two countries.
