Arab League and GCC sign a MoU

The Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit and the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf signed today at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two sides, provide maximum support for Arab interests, namely the Palestinian cause, and coordinate stances with regards to all international and regional matters.
Following the signing ceremony, Aboul Gheit said, in a statement, that the two sides agreed to form a joint committee at the level of assistant secretaries to ensure the implementation of the objectives of the MOU, assigning points of contact and conducting a periodic assessment of the cooperation process, adding that the memorandum aims at more interdependence between the Arab League and the GCC.
