Arab Parliament Calls for Unity of Efforts to Confront Poverty

The Arab Parliament has stressed the need to educate Arab citizens about the importance of participating in charitable activities and giving aid to those in need, in order to create more homogeneous societies that are capable to confront challenges and to raise the living standards of the people.
The Arab Parliament issued a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Charity, observed on September 5, saying that a significant challenge facing many countries on the globe is that of combating all forms of poverty, and that the UN aims to achieve this goal to reach a sustainable development.
It also called for unifying the efforts of all government, private and civil society agencies to confront poverty by implementing and localizing the culture of charitable work.
The Arab Parliament expressed gratitude for the humanitarian efforts and assistance Arab countries extend to the countries and people in dire need.
