Car bomb in Syrian vegetable market kills five people
SMA NEWS – SYRIA
A car bomb killed five people at a vegetable market in a Syrian town on the border with Turkey on Saturday.
A woman and child were among the three confirmed civilian deaths, while the identity of two others was not immediately clear, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The UK-based war monitor said four other people were wounded in the blast in Ras al-Ain, which Turkey has held since it started an offensive with allied militias to seize land from Kurdish forces in 2019.
A video posted by Kurdish news website Rudaw showed a burning car and shocked crowds helping casualties.
On 10 December, a car bomb killed 16 people including two civilians and three Turkish personnel at a checkpoint in the town.
