Egypt stresses comprehensive political solution in Yemen and protection of navigation

Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Aati met on Monday, with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, Hans Grundberg.

Abdel Aati affirmed Egypt’s support for efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution that ends human suffering, stressing the importance of ensuring the safety of maritime navigation in the Red Sea and its direct connection to Egyptian national security.

He pointed out the need for the international community to play its role in reducing the exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis and providing the necessary support to finance the United Nations relief programs in Yemen.
