Egypt’s Sisi Hails Kuwait’s Efforts to Resolve Gulf Rift
SMA NEWS – CAIRO
Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi hailed on Saturday Kuwait’s sincere efforts over the years to resolve the Gulf rift.
Sisi welcomed in Cairo Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al Sabah, highlighting the efforts of late Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber Al Sabah in reaching the desired reconciliation.
Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt severed diplomatic and economic ties with Qatar in 2017 over its support and financing of terrorism.

The president stressed Egypt’s policy that is keen on Arab cooperation and solidarity, while refraining from meddling in internal affairs, in order to remain vigilant of dangers against the Arab nation.
The Kuwaiti minister delivered a written message from the Emir of Kuwait that tackled his country’s efforts to restore Arab unity.
The royal also hailed the close fraternal relations that bind Kuwait and Egypt and Cairo’s role in protecting Arab national security, defending Arab causes and working tirelessly in cementing regional security, stability and development.
Sisi and Sheikh Ahmad agreed to intensify their talks and coordination to confront all threats to Arab security and stability.
