Israel Announces The Assassination Of A Leader In Hezbollah Air Unit

The Israeli army announced, on Saturday evening, the assassination of a militia leader, after an air strike targeting a car in southern Lebanon.
Israeli army spokesman, Avichai Adraei, said in a statement that “a plane raided carefully and under the intelligence of the Intelligence Authority on a central sabotage in the Hezbollah Air Unit in South Lebanon.”
He pointed out that the raid came after “he performed frequent violations of the understandings of the agreement between Israel and in recent weeks, which also included his involvement in the launch of paths towards Israeli lands.”
Earlier, the official Lebanese News Agency said that a path launched a raid on a car, on Saturday evening, in southern Lebanon, hours after a similar raid and days before the deadline for implementing the ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel.
The agency said, “An Israeli path carried out nearly seven in the evening (Saturday), a targeted raid, with a directed missile, a car on the Gerges -Louisa road in the Al -Tafah region (…), and the targeted car broke out.” /P>
Since November 27, a ceasefire agreement has been in the aim of ending an end to an exchanging cross -border bombing between Israel and Hezbollah.
Al -Itifaq stipulated a period of sixty days for the withdrawal of the Israeli forces from southern Lebanon in exchange for strengthening the Lebanese army and the United Nations force their deployment. On the other hand, the militia must withdraw from the area of the south of the Litani River and dismantle any military structures in it.
After Israel confirmed that it would not abide by the specified withdrawal period, the agreement is extended until February 18.
