MP Jamal al-Khudari, Head of the Popular Committee against the Siege, said that 80% of the population in Gaza are stuck below poverty line and the unemployment rate has jumped to 60%, hitting the highest percentages in the world.

In a press statement on Friday, Khudari stressed the necessity to end the internal division and to achieve reconciliation so that many of the outstanding crises would be resolved.

He called for retracting all the moves and decisions that affected the living conditions in the blockaded Gaza Strip.

Khudari also demanded lifting the siege and opening all of the crossings as well as establishing an emergency fund in order to end the existing crises and to boost the economic conditions in the besieged coastal enclave. (PIC)
