SMA NEWS – AL-WADIAH
In the framework of the directives of the Minister of Endowments and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Aydah Shabiba, a committee from the Hajj and Umrah Sector headed by Mr. Abdul Karim Al-Sheikh, Director General of Hajj and Umrah, and membership of Abdul Jabbar Al-Mazlam, Director General of Organization and Accounts, and in the presence of Saleh Al-Awlaqi, Director of the Follow-up and Coordination Department, made an official visit to the Saudi Al-Wadiah Port to enhance joint cooperation to serve pilgrims and Umrah performers.

During the visit, the committee met with the leadership of the port represented by Colonel Mohammed Dhafer Al-Qahtani, Director of Passports, and Mohammed Munadi Al-Anzi, Director of Customs. The meeting discussed aspects of joint cooperation between the two sides to facilitate the movement of Yemeni pilgrims and Umrah performers, and ways to address the challenges facing the port, including congestion and mechanisms to alleviate it.

The committee stressed the importance of continuous coordination between the two sides to improve the crossing operations for pilgrims and Umrah performers, especially since the Al-Wadiah port is the only land port for Yemenis to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is noteworthy that this port serves millions of Yemeni residents in the Kingdom, in addition to pilgrims and Umrah performers.
