Monitoring an entity impersonating international body directs ships to the port of Hodeidah

The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority (UKMTO), on Thursday, monitored an entity impersonating a UN inspection body and directing commercial ships towards Hodeidah ports under the pretext of inspecting them.

The UKMTO alerted in a statement that it received information about the existence of an entity impersonating the United Nations Verification and Inspection Mechanism (UNVIM), and directing commercial ships located in the vicinity of the port of Aden to the port of Hodeidah, which is controlled by the Iran-backed Houthi militia.

In a statement, the authority called on commercial ships in the area to be cautious and to report any suspicious activity.
