Saudi Arabia renders humanitarian support to the needy through 2,984 projects across 99 countries

Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), consistently stands by those in need and affected by crises worldwide. Through its projects and programs, KSrelief has extended aid and support, totaling 2,984 projects in various vital sectors across 99 countries all over the world.

This commitment is highlighted on World Refugee Day, observed annually on June 20, showcasing the Kingdom’s noble humanitarian role, which extends to all countries without discrimination. It reaffirms Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for refugees and displaced people worldwide and its continued commitment to providing assistance and protection, considering it an Islamic and humanitarian duty mandated by the teachings of Islam and international humanitarian laws.

The Kingdom has actively supported refugees and displaced people globally, striving to alleviate their suffering and provide them with a dignified life. This is evident through a series of humanitarian programs and projects specifically aimed at them, totaling 424 projects worth over $1.182 billion in several countries.

Notably, Syria has benefited from 237 projects exceeding $512 million, Palestine from 63 projects amounting to more than $215 million, Myanmar through 24 projects crossing over $173 million, and Yemen from 45 projects worth more than $138 million. These projects encompassed vital sectors such as food security, agriculture, protection, health, shelter, early recovery, and education.

KSrelief has supported internally displaced people through 304 projects worth over $2.019 billion. Refugees and visitors residing within the Kingdom from Yemen, Syria, and Myanmar constitute 5.5 percent of the population. Saudi Arabia is one of the most welcoming countries to visitors who are refugees within the Kingdom, offering them free access to healthcare and education and facilitating their integration into society. They are present in all regions of the Kingdom, with opportunities for work and education in public schools.
