Sudan Releases 17 Yemeni Fishermen

SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
The Sudanese authorities released 17 Yemeni fishermen from Al-Jarahi District in Hodeidah Governorate, western Yemen.
Informed sources said that 17 fishermen from Al-Jarahi District, south of Hodeidah, arrived in the capital, Aden, after they had been detained for weeks by the Sudanese authorities after they entered Sudanese territorial waters to fish without prior permission.
The sources added that the Sudanese authorities detained the Yemeni fishermen, confiscated their boats, and imposed a fine on them.
The fishermen confirmed, in previous statements, that what they were exposed to was the result of circumstances beyond their control, as bad weather conditions forced them to enter unauthorized areas.
