The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen and the World Bank Discuss Expanding Development Partnerships in Yemen

The General Supervisor of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, Ambassador Mohammed Al Jaber, discussed with a delegation from the World Bank, headed by the World Bank’s Regional Director for Egypt, Yemen, and Djibouti, Stephane Gimbert, ways to enhance existing development cooperation between the two sides and expand development partnerships in Yemen.
The meeting, attended by the Director of the World Bank Group Office in Yemen, Dina Abu Ghida, and a number of program and World Bank staff, took place at the program’s headquarters in Riyadh. The meeting reviewed the results achieved in several joint projects, most notably the “Lifeline Project,” one of the most prominent models of cooperation between the program and the World Bank to support the transportation sector in the Republic of Yemen.
The meeting addressed areas of cooperation proposed between the two sides in several vital sectors, which will contribute to improving daily life in the Republic of Yemen.
