UN Security Council Imposes Arms Embargo on the Houthis

The United Nations Security Council on Monday imposed an arms embargo on the Houthis.

The decision came  after they claimed several drone and missile assaults the UAE and Saudi Arabia this year.

According to Reuters, this measure expands a targeted U.N. arms embargo on several Houthi leaders to the whole group.

Eleven members voted in favor of the resolution, while Ireland, Mexico, Brazil and Norway abstained.

The Houthis had adopted numerous attacks against the UAE and Saudi Arabia, targeting airports and civilian facilities in the two countries, during the past months.
