A new high price rise every hour

The prices of basic foodstuffs flare up almost every hour, not to mention the high prices, which include all aspects of life for all basic and secondary materials

One of the most important reasons for it is the smuggling of basic foodstuffs such as rice, sugar, flour, oils and the alike to the Houthi areas.

Today, the issue of smuggling is the transportation of poultry, fish and seasonal vegetables.

In the Houthi areas, a chicken with a large weight is sold for 3500 riyals, which means, after converting the currency, that it was sold there for approximately 8000 riyals.

Retailers say that traders buy the green and dry and go to sell it in the areas controlled by the Houthis, and they exchange their money in the old Yemeni riyals to Saudi riyals, and they buy back food items from the markets of the so-called legitimate control in small Yemeni riyals or in Saudi riyals

It is noted that the merchants do not take the Houthi areas to merchandise only and do not spend money, which has caused a shortage of supply and an increase in demand, which resulted in the inflation that is happening and that the citizens suffer from in the areas under the control of the so-called legitimacy

One of them stated in a special way that the gains that the merchant achieves from this business achieved profits in the sale, as well as imaginary profits in the exchange difference when converting the large Yemeni riyal to Saudi riyal in the Houthi areas and returning it to our markets and buying either in small Yemeni riyals or directly in Saudi riyals

What is specifically and urgently required is to prevent any consumer items from moving to Houthi areas, specifically poultry, fish and seasonal vegetables

Finding effective and radical solutions to fix the state of the national currency, unless things worsen and chaos will occur, with which nothing will work after that.
