[su_spacer size=”10″][su_dropcap]O[/su_dropcap]ne of the negative sides of the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen, penetrated by the northern when they controlled decision-making process, was introversion, mono-polarization and complete loyalty to socialist side. This drove the southern towards cutting their relations with the rest of the world, as if they lived in an isolated planet. This also made them easily fall into the hands of northern occupation.
President Salmeen realized the serious effects of isolation and wanted to open the doors over the rest of the world. But they didn’t give him time and assassinated him early.
We said that over and over: the south today is not the same as yesterday. We will be open to the Arab world, Islamic countries, eastern countries and western countries. We will be open to all southern parties who believe in independence, liberation and disengagement.
President Al-Zubaidi met the former US ambassador and his companions inside the southern transitional council’s headquarters in Aden. The US ambassador asserted that future meetings will be held in Aden or in Washington. This is an important meeting with major significance for the southern cause.
The meeting asserted that the council is now recognized as a representative of the southern people and a true partner in maintaining security and stability in the Arab peninsaula and in addition to securing international interests.
The world now realizes that the southern state is the first step towards security, stability and fighting terrorism in the region.
I remember president Al-Zubaidi when he said: “They will come to us”. He said that as he was convinced that we are on the right path to restore our state and, one day, the world will realize who is the true side seeking security, stability and protecting the people’s and the whole world’s interests from terrorism and chaos. One day, they will come to this side considering him as a major partner in maintaining everyone’s interests.
Several parties in the occupation tried to spread chaos in Aden, Shabwa and Socotra before the visit just to blur the vision and change the security situation on the ground but they failed.
We hope that this significant visit will be the start for strong relations with the Americans. We are reaching for the whole world. We are peace makers. We fight only for restoring our state and we expect more understanding for our southern cause from the decision-making countries that seek to resolve this crisis. I think they now realize that the solution is in disengagement.
