The Prime Minister, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, and the Minister of State, Governor of Aden the capital, Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, and with them the Minister of Electricity and Energy, Manea bin Yameen, officially inaugurated the full operation of the solar energy station, with its full capacity (120) megabytes, in the capital Aden, with funding from the brothers in the United Arab Emirates under the supervision of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), and implemented by (Electromeca International).
At the ceremony held on this occasion, the Prime Minister delivered a speech in which he expressed his happiness at the inauguration of the largest solar energy station in the country, in the capital, Aden, with a generating capacity of (120) megabytes that can be expanded, which came within the framework of fraternal support and generous funding from the brothers in the United Arab Emirates, represented by Prince Mohammed bin Zayed, President of the UAE .
Bin Mubarak stressed that the solar energy station will represent a good sign in the field of renewable energy after the city of Mokha witnessed the opening of the solar energy project there, and to include the rest of the governorates, including Shabwa, Hadramaut, Al-Mahra and other governorates, praising all the efforts that were behind the success of this achievement and in record time, at the forefront is the support and care of the Presidential Leadership Council, represented by the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, and his two deputies, Major General Aidaroos Qasim Al-Zubaidi and Commander Abu Zara’a Al-Muharrami.
The Prime Minister urged everyone on the importance of formulating a strategic vision on how to preserve, sustain and continue this achievement, and even expand service in the field of renewable energy, improve and develop the generation and collection of revenues, and provide sufficient energy that meets the needs of comprehensive development, especially in Aden the capital, this is a city in which we seek to achieve many achievements at, pointing to the competence of the local cadres who have proven their ability to contribute to the completion of this project and to represent the basic foundations for future projects.
For his part, the Minister of Electricity and Energy, Manea bin Yameen, delivered a speech at the beginning of which he welcomed the participants in the inauguration ceremony, expressing his thanks on his behalf and all the employees of the Ministry and the Electricity Corporation for everyone who contributed, supported and helped in the success of the solar energy project and in the forefront of them are the brothers in the United Arab Emirates, who participated this project that was officially launched with a capacity of (120) megabytes a success.
The Minister of Electricity and Energy explained that the project can be expanded to reach (600) megabytes in the next stages especially since the transportation lines are ready in this regard.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Minister of Transport, Dr. Abdul Salam Humaid, the Minister of Civil Service, Dr. Abdel Nasser Al-Wali, the Minister of Social Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zaouri, the Deputy Governor of Aden, Badr Saeed Moa’on, and Eng. Mujeeb Al-Shaabi, Director General of the General Electricity Corporation, Director General of Aden Electricity, Salem Al-Walidi, General Directors of the Executive Offices, Directorates, and Leaderships of the Transitional Council, and a number of undersecretaries of ministries and undersecretaries of Aden the capital, and others.
