SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Southern Transitional Council and Chairman of the National Assembly, on Monday, received the committee assigned by President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi to inspect collection points on the international line in Abyan Governorate.

Al-Kathiri listened from the Chairman of the Committee, member of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, Dr. Al-Khader Al-Saidi, to a report that included an inventory of the checkpoints affiliated with local, military and security leaders, where levies are collected illegally for the benefit of certain individuals.

The report recommended removing all illegal collection points and toll scales in the governorate, setting up a mechanism to ensure implementation and preventing recurrence in the future, reorganizing the collection process at one point at the entrance to the governorate, and supplying the funds collected from it to the public treasury.

Al-Kathiri expressed the Transitional Council’s leadership’s rejection of actions that undermine security and stability, stressing that there will be no tolerance for illegal money collectors, which negatively reflect on the citizens’ life and increase their financial burdens in light of the difficult living and economic conditions that the country is experiencing.
