Last Friday, AP indicated that violent armed clashes occurred in the streets of Taiz among Islamic armed groups loyal to the exiled government but ceased now, while many are still worried about renewing fight again. According to a local Yemeni official, AP indicated that clashes occurred between militias loyal to Al-Eslah Part, the political arm of Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen and the governing party of president Hady, and Abu Al-Abbas Salafi group. AP presented horrible narratives about crimes of Al-Eslah militias including the story of Abdullah and his children who survived several days ago but sieged in their house because of fire. Abdullah said: “The massive fire burnt the three stories of the house. We tried to run though fire but couldn’t. we were terrified and my children collapsed and cried from fear”.
Um Mukhtar Abdan, indicated that her son was killed in clashes by a snipper’s bullet and she couldn’t transfer him to hospital because it was shut down by clashes. Several residents indicated they were victims of violence of Islamist groups in the area.
AP also indicated that last Sunday several demonstrations marched the streets of the city denouncing targeting civilians by Al-Eslah militias. Mohamed Al-Mutairi said: “we are demonstrating in solidarity of those who live in the old town and the circular zone who were victims of killing and violations including bombard and destruction initiated by the so-called the security commission”.
