The first independence, when British occupation troops evacuated from the south, urges the southern people to seek a second independence when Yemeni occupation troops will be evacuated from the south.
Sheikh Saleh Ben Farid Al-Awlaki, member of the council’s presidency, Salem Thabet Al-Awlaki, official spokesman of the council, Sheikh Ali Mohsen Al-Solimani, chairman of local leadership of the council in Shabwa, Colonel Mohamed Salem Al-Bu Hur, Commander of Shabwa Elites – Azzan Axis, brigadier Salem Hantoush Al-Awlaki, commander of Al-Saeed axis, colonel Wagdi Ba Oum Al-Khulifi, commander of Al-Shuhada axis and a large number of tribal leaders and public military and civilian figures attended the festival.
Sheikh Ali Mohsen Al-Solimani, chairman of local leadership of Shabwa, delivered a speech saying:
Today we are celebrating a dear national memory when our ancestors forced the British occupation troops to leave the south on November 30th. This was our first independence that we earned through major sacrifices and heroic deeds. This day will remain as a source of southern pride and glory.
Since the declaration of this doomed union, and especially in 1994 when the south was invaded and occupied, southern citizens were expelled of their military and civilian positions and their fortunes were robbed. The south passed through tragic conditions till 2015 when the south stopped Al-Houthi – Yemeni invasion with the help of the Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia and UAE. The south defeated invaders and stopped the Iranian expansion. This is how the south served our religion and our nation.
Our southern people were very patient and bore all the consequences of governmental failure. Nevertheless, all peace efforts fail because it overcomes the south and its cause. But all tries to bury this cause failed and will fail if they don’t recognize the reality that the south should gain the right of self-determination and independence.
This dear occasion indicates that the southern people are eager to liberation and independence and this purpose can never be ignored as the sacrifices of our martyrs paved the way to it. In this occasion we assert the following:
• Our choice is to restore the federal sovereign state of the south.
• No real solution can be reached through marginalizing the south and its victories and cause.
• Shabwa is an original part of the south and its demands for improving service and developmental conditions are not tries to break up this fact.
• We appreciate the role of Saudi Arabia and UAE for their efforts on the military and services aspects in addition to supporting Shabwa Elites troops in the war for clearing Shabwa of evil powers.
• All citizens of Shabwa should gather hand in hand and neglect racism as the south is for all.
• Bloods of martyrs will never go in vain and caring for their families is an ethical and patriotic duty.
• Statement of October 3rd of the Southern Transitional Council is the political road map and a patriotic choice that can never be ignored.
We should all work so that can gather again to celebrate our second Independence Day.
Secretary general of Ain Tribes Coalition indicated that this glorious day is the dawn for the second independence when northern occupation is evacuated from the south. He indicated that this occupation robbed the south and caused negative effects on its people. He also asserted the significant role of southern resistance especially with the existence of troops in Mareb that are training to reinvade the south under a local and international silence as these troops didn’t fight Al-Houthi coup. He also indicated the project of regions is a dark tunnel that will only divide the south.
Salem Thabe Al-Awlaki, official spokesman of the southern transitional council, talked about the role of Shabwa in the southern cause and asserted that the council cares for the suffering of Shabwa citizens who are forced to work abroad although their governorate has potentials that even exceed all Arab Countries. He also talked about the council’s work with UN envoy and the visits to some Arab nd Western capitals and their positive outcomes. He added that attending negotiations is only for the interest of the southern people. He also thanked the Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia and UAE in establishing security and stability in the south through establishing Elites forces in Shabwa, Hadhramaut and Al-Mehra in addition to security belt forces in Aden and Abian.
Ahmed Al-Shami, Director of Administrative Department of Shabwa Council recited the statement of local leadership of Shabwa:
Free citizens of Shabwa and glorious people of the south. You who sacrificed everything in your historic struggle towards liberation with dignity and patriotism. Here you are gathering today to celebrate the anniversary of November 30th, this glorious memory of the first national independence. He you are looking for your freedom through enforcing your will and gaining your second independence through restoring your free federal southern state.
On this occasion, we are asserting the following points:
8. All international or regional efforts, negotiations or consultations that seek to end the war and establish peace but overcome the southern cause and ignore the role of the south and its resistance in this process will certainly fail.
9. According to the significant role of the southern revolution in defeating Al-Houthi invasion and all the sacrifices of the southern resistance in this respect we can say that those who managed to achieve all these victories will never fail to preserve and protect them under all conditions.
10. We appreciate the honorable role of our brothers in the Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia and UAE and at the same time condemn all Iranian threats through its tools in the region.
11. We will continue our work on the file of martyrs and injured of Shabwa to make it a top priority and in this respect, we resent all unjust treatment of this file according to regional, political or sectarian considerations and we resent all unjust treatment of martyrs’ families.
12. We should bear our responsibility towards exerting more pressure so that Shabwa can take its fair share of oil exports revenues and to protect all its resources from corruption. This will make Shabwa self-sufficient and able to plan its developmental projects and services without begging for funds.
13. We express our full support to Shabwa Elites Troops and their efforts in establishing security in joint cooperation with military and security systems of the governorate. We appreciate their successive victories over terrorists. We also support the quick formation of its axes and full deployment all over Shabwa.
14. We assert that Shabwa is an original part of the south and its future and all calls or initiatives that ignore this fact will never mean good for the governorate but only seek to weaken the southern national project under which the southern citizens, from Al-Mehra in the east to Bab Al-Mandeb in the west, regained their dignity.
