A Seminar in Adan about “The Upcoming Negotiation Process and How Ready the South is for it”
[su_label type=”info”]SMA News – Adan – Exclusive [/su_label][su_spacer size=”10″] Adan Gulf Institution for Human Development and Social Services held a seminar on Monday May 28th, 2018, under the title of “The Upcoming Negotiation Process and How Ready the South is for it”.
Dr. Mahmoud Shaef, chairman of Adan Gulf Institution, welcomed the attendants indicating that the seminar came in response to the invitation of Martin Griffith, UN delegate to Yemen, for southern people to participate actively in any upcoming arrangements and that the seminar is to discuss the requirements for participating in the upcoming negotiations with involvement of a great mass of southern elites, academics, youth, women and media men.
In the first day of the two-day seminar, hosted in Coral Hotel – Khour Maxar, Dr. Saleh Al-Wageeh, presented a working paper titled by “Requirements of Negotiation File and Criteria and Standards of Southern Negotiators”. He talked about the qualities of negotiators and strategies to be followed by them.
Dr. Hussain Al-Akel presented the second working paper titled by “Illegal Legislations of Investing Oil and Gas in Southern Governorates”. The paper discussed the processes of robing and abusing oil and gas natural fortunes of the south by influential people and how they used their powers to control it in agreement with foreign companies.
Salah Al-Sakaldy, a journalist, presented a working paper titled by “Southern Media Between Past Struggles and Future Rights”. The paper discussed the situation of southern media and the need for unifying media speech in one media tool that supports negotiations.
Dr. Yahia Shaef Al-Shuaiby presented the fourth working paper titled by “Challenges of Unifying the Southern Negotiation File and How to Overcome it”. The paper discussed the importance of creating one unified negotiation team that speaks for the south and how to prepare a successful immune southern negotiator in the face of challenges of the southern file.
Mansour Saleh, a political analyst and Journalist, presented the final papers of the first day under the title of “Significance of Creating Southern Media that Supports and Advocates the Southern Cause”. The paper discussed the role of media since the beginning of the southern movement in 2007 and the vital role it played that led to the establishment of the southern transitional council as the southern cause gained the attention of Arab and International Media.
All papers were discussed and recommendations for each paper were established.
