Academics of Tor Al-Baha college in Lahj at their second protest hint at escalatory measures
Dozens of academics of the College of Education in Tor Al-Baha in Lahij, on Sunday, implemented a second protest in front of the college to confirm their demands for their legitimate rights that they have not got while they continue to do their academic work for years.
A statement was issued from the protest, in which they indicated their demands as follows:
1- Equating their salaries in their academic governmental facilities at the level of the University of Aden, and granting them financial settlements according to their current qualifications and adopting them within the budget of the University of Aden for the current year.
2- Adopting job grades for this year for academically appointed non-employees each according to his academic qualification.
The statement added that the appointees academically and with their colleagues in the various colleges of the University of Aden have implemented their first agreement in front of the Prime Minister in Aden, and those demands were discussed with the state of Prime Minister Dr. Moeen Abdulmalik, who promised to develop solutions and treatments for their demands, and those promises unfortunately are still not implemented.
Therefore, the protesters are calling for the Higher Coordination Committee at the University of Aden to take escalatory steps that may lead to a comprehensive strike until their just demands are met by the university leadership and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
