Aden Chamber of Commerce calls for important press conference on Monday
SMA NEWS – ADEN THE CAPITAL
The Chamber of Commerce of Aden the capital, invited media to attend an important press conference on Monday.
The conference comes at a time that the cities of Aden the capital, Taiz and Lahj are witnessing a wave of strikes denouncing the rise in prices and the deterioration of people’s living conditions resulting from the sharp decline of the local currency, after the dollar price reached 1700 riyals last Saturday for the first time, while the Saudi riyal is sold at about 444 Yemeni riyals.
The Chamber of Commerce said in a previous statement that “the accelerated rise in foreign currency exchange rates and the great collapse of the riyal lead to serious disruption in trade and industry, and impede their continuity.”
The Chamber of Commerce warned that “the collapse of the currency will eventually lead to a scarcity of commodity supply, which will push the country to the brink of famine.”
