Aden Chamber of Commerce discusses enhancing trade exchange with Indian Ambassador

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Aden, Mr. Abu Bakr Baobaid, met at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the capital, Aden, the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Yemen, Mr. Suhail Ijaz Khan, in the presence of the Director General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Aden, Iqbal Munir, and Eng. Ashraf Khanbari, Deputy Director General of Aden Chamber of Commerce.
During the meeting, the two sides held discussions on ways to activate trade between the two parties and exchange experiences and competencies by restoring historical relations in the field of economy and trade between Aden and India.
The Indian Ambassador to Yemen said: “My visit to Aden is the first and there are strong relations between India and Aden, and this is what we will work on despite the gap that occurred in the past ten years as a result of the war events in Yemen, but we say that we will start from scratch to restore economic and trade relations.” In return, Abu Bakr Baobaid, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Aden, stressed the provision of the necessary support to enhance trade and economic relations, stressing the importance of facilitating the work of traders in the two countries and embodying their distinguished and strong ties. He added: “We have gone through and are still going through difficult circumstances due to the war in Yemen, but the relationship between the private sector between our two countries will continue in several areas such as the exchange of food commodities, medicine, education and energy, which requires the need for Indian expertise and efficiency.” During the meeting, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce presented to the Indian Ambassador a file related to the investment law in Yemen and the offers presented to investors, calling for the reactivation of the registration of Yemeni traders’ requests to obtain visas to India, expressing his hope that they will obtain a letter from the Chamber of Commerce to be approved in facilitating their work as was the case before the war.
