Aden Electricity sends urgent appeal to President Hadi and Prime Minister as remaining fuel is not enough for two days

The leadership of the General Electricity Corporation of Aden appealed to the President of the Republic, Abdu Rabbo Mansour Hadi, and the government with its Prime Minister, Dr. Moeen Abdul-Malik, and the Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr. Anwar Kalashat, to urgently provide emergency fuel of diesel to power plants to ensure not to be out of service due to the near running out of the fuel.
The leadership of the Corporation stated that the remaining diesel fuel in the tanks of Aden refineries is almost sufficient for a period not exceeding two days only, which will exacerbate the high intensity of the interruption hours and the entry of the city into complete darkness.
The leadership of the Corporation added that running out of fuel threatens to stop all diesel-powered generating stations, which constitute more than 80% of Aden’s electricity generation.
The leadership of Aden Electricity Corporation stressed the need to provide diesel fuel in sufficient quantity until the arrival of the fourth batch of the Saudi grant, in order to preserve the continuation of generating stations.
Aden Electricity expressed its deep regret to the citizens due to the increasing hours of power cuts off due to running out of fuel.
