Aden oil company employees demand the restoration of the Caltex facility
A number of employees of the oil company in the capital, Aden, organized on Sunday a protest in front of the judicial compound in KhorMaksar district to demand the recovery of one of the company’s facilities.
In the demonstration, protesters demanded the restoration of Caltex facility due to the violation of the terms of the lease contract signed for being engaged in activities contrary to the contract and the law.
Aden Petroleum Syndicate had invited civil society organizations, human rights organizations, media professionals, activists and all citizens to protest in order to reconsider the appeal of the arbitration decision issued by the administrative department.
The union explained earlier that the second leased party (Afara) had violated the terms of the lease contract from the owner of the first leased party (Aden Oil Company) and it should be rescinded and the site returned to its owner (the oil company) without procrastination and delay.
